The Central Naval Museum
This is one of the largest naval museums in the world, the oldest museum in Russia, founded in 1709. The museum numbers over 800,000 items, including "the Grandfather of Russian Navy" - the old boat of Peter the Great, models of
boats, paintings by famous marine artists, weapons, standards, naval flags,
decorations and medals, maps and plans of naval voyages and documents.
Located in the historical building of the Stock Exchange, designed by the architect T. De
Thomon, constructed in the beginning of the XIX century.
