MOSCOW COSMONAUTICS MUSEUM
In 1964, one of the most magnificent monuments of the XX century - the
"Monument to the Conquerors of Space" (by sculptor A.
Faidysh-Krandievsky, architects A. Kolchin and M. Barsch) was erected in Moscow.
The Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics was opened at the pedestal of the Obelisk in
1981. The exposition is devoted to the achievements of Soviet and Russian
cosmonautics and to the most significant events in the country's history in the
XX century.
