The travel company "Legend tour" is a partner of Russian Railroad since 2006. We
perform tickets and e-tickets (e tickets, electronic train ticket) reservation service for Russian trains.
Russian rail system is the most extensive rail system in the world connecting
thousands of Russian cities and playing an indispensable role in Russia's
economy. Russia Railways carry millions of passengers each offering a convenient
alternative to travel by air or car since flights can be expensive and Russian
roads are not always suitable for travel.
In Russia, it is impossible to reserve train tickets – passengers must always purchase their tickets first in order to secure their travel dates. The tickets go on sale
45 days before the actual train departure (60 days before the actual train departure in the international routes). There are also no open tickets for Russian trains - you will have to buy a ticket for a particular train on a certain date. In order to purchase tickets, you have to present your passport (passport copy or even just giving your passport number). There is no double pricing system for foreigners applied to rail tickets as there frequently is with theater tickets, so tickets are the same price whether you are Russian or not.
Please note, when possible, we will issue an electronic ticket
that works just like electronic plane ticket: you print it out and exchange it
for a boarding pass at any Russian train station. Electronic tickets are only
available for Russian domestic trains. If you are traveling outside Russia, we
will need to issue a paper train ticket and mail it to you.
Electronic ticket is just a simple booking number that indicates that a certain
seat is reserved in your name. When you book your ticket here, we will send you
a booking receipt that will have your name and the reservation number on it, as
well as the bar code. Please print it out and bring it with you to the train
station - you will need it to get your boarding pass.
Note: if you are booking tickets for more than one person, all the names will be
on the same booking receipt.
At the train station
At the train station, you must must exchange your electronic ticket receipt for
a boarding pass. This can be done in any ticket booth or electronic terminal.
Look for booths that have an E-ticket sign or just go to a booth and scan the
bar code at the automatic booth machine.
It is important that you have a government issued ID that verifies your
identity. You will not be able to board a train without your ID. Please make
sure that your name on the electronic ticket receipt is printed the same was as
in your passport.
