Stone Tents on Shartash Lake - one of the most popular places to visit. At the
first sight, these gray rocks look like remains of some old castle, but in fact
they are completely natural. According to archeologists, there was an ancient
settlement here. Lovely Shartash lake is not far from here, surrounded by woods.
Interesting places in Yekaterinburg surroundings
Ganina yama is 17 kilometers from Ekaterinburg. It is a derelict mine. In summer of 1918 the remains of the last Russian tsar’s family were buried here. On May 29, 1979 the burial was found by geologists. The monastery dedicated to the Saint Tsar Martyrs was erected here. 7 wooden temples were built on the territory of the monastery. Every of them has special features but they constitute a unite architectural ensemble. Poklonniy Krest (Cross of Bows) is placed in the center of the monastery. There are also a cross which belonged to Romanov dynasty and miraculous icon in the Saint Tsar Martyrs’ Temple. In the course of this tour you’ll also visit Temple-on-Blood located in the place of Ipatiev’s house where the tsar family lived it’s last days.
Kamenniye Palatki (Stone Tents) and Shartash Lake
One of the most popular places to rest during all the year. At the first
sight, these gray rocks look like the remains of an old castle, but in fact
they are completely natural. The tallest rock is 12 meters (40 feet) high.
According to archeologists, long time ago there was a site of an ancient
men. The Shartash lake is not far from the rocks, in the middle of the
forest. It is very beautiful.
Ilmen reserve - the first in the world reserve of stones located in the Ilmen Rocks.
Nizhny Tagil has been included into the register of
"historical towns of Russia". It is one of the oldest mining
centers of both home and world metallurgy, the former land of the Demidovs -
the famous dynasty of plant and mine owners. The past and the present of
Nizhny Tagil are intermixed.
Verkh-Isetski Pond
The biggest pond on Iset, made in 1724 when building Verkh-Isetski plant, it
is 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) long. It is very popular for yacht lovers or if
you just want to rent a small boat. There are several nice beaches if you
want to take some sun and swim
Europe-Asia border obelisk
Forty kilometers (25 miles) to the west of Yekaterinburg, to the right of
Moscow highway there is a high obelisk with a sign Europe on one side and
Asia on the other. Many tourists from all over the country come to see this
obelisk.
Nevyansk - – the
“grandfather” of the Urals plants (one of the oldest metallurgical ñenters
in the Urals)
