Vladimir Sukachev Irkutsk Regional Art Museum
The Vladimir Sukachev Irkutsk Regional Art Museum is the oldest and richest museum in Siberia.
Museum is founded on the private art collection of Vladimir Sukachev, a city head and patron of art Now, the museum s collection includes more than 14,000 works of art The rich collection includes ancient Russian and Siberian icons and wooden religious sculpture of the 18th century The portrait gallery includes pictures painted by V.Polenov, V.Tropmm, K.Bryullov, I.Repin, V.Vasnetsov, and B.Kustodiev. The Western European collection includes works by the masters of Holland, Flanders, France, Italy, Germany and English from the 17th to the 19th century. The Japan and China collections include paintings as well as porcelain, wooden, metal and stone objects from the 3rd through the 20th centuries The museum also houses works by Siberian writers.
